In the background: The HESSENMETALL Cluster Initiative
Supporter of the HESSENMETALL cluster initiative is the union of metal and electronics companies Hessen e.V. and the Technical University of Darmstadt. As both in 2006 launched this initiative, they had very specific goals in mind: Access to research facilities, the associated transfer of knowledge to the members of each cluster and the development of synergies within the network.
To achieve these objectives, HESSENMETALL donates at TU Darmstadt, the junior professorship "Cluster & Value Chain Management" at the Department of Law and Economics. The assistant professor is responsible for coordinating and implementing the cluster initiative and the setting up new projects. The scientific staff of the Department functions as cluster managers.
The foundation assumes the personnel costs for the junior-professorship and the project management, TU Darmstadt takes over the costs of offices equipment and travel costs. The junior professorship has been given to Dr. Alexander Bode.
